Who do you consider to be a power couple? Is it a couple in the news? A couple that is followed closely on social media? What makes them a power couple?

Here's a nugget for you: A true power couple is one that understands that God is the source of their power.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. II Corinthians 4:7

Apart from God there is nothing powerful about us. But as Christians there is a very powerful treasure deposited in us called the Holy Spirit. It is He that strengthens and empowers us to be a power couple for the Lord.

So let’s not let the media dictate to us what a power couple looks and acts like. Because as we have repeatedly witnessed, without God quite often those so-called power couples go from powerful to pitiful.

As couples, everything we are and everything we ever hope to be comes from the power of God!
